Grave Marker – (Photo courtesy of Frans van Cappellen, Putten, The Netherlands) Airborne 0030 13May43 from Ridgewell on a mission over Duisberg. Shot down by a night-fighter, crashing 0328 into the IJsselmeer off Nijkerk (Gelderland), Holland. In the years that have passed all have been positively identified and taken for burial in various Dutch cemeteries. The wreckage of BF523 was recovered by the Dutch Air Force in 1967. Sgt W.Morey was Pilot of the aircraft with a RAF crew consisting of Sgt R.S.Shaw, Sgt B.A.Bacon, Sgt W.Murray, Sgt E.W.Eke, Sgt A.J.Buxton and Sgt C.Green. (Source //lostbombers.co.uk)
