Son of John Caskie and Agnes Kellie, of Hamilton, Ontario. Husband of Nancy Margaret Anderson, of Hamilton, Ontario. Father of one child.

He served as a private, service number B-600038, at NRMA Clearing Depot No 2 in Ontario and Nova Scotia. He served with the air force in Canada for 461 days. As a flight instructor, he crashed at Puslinch southwest of Morrison, Ontario.

Hamilton Woodland Cemetery borders the Hamilton Harbour. From downtown Hamilton, follow York Boulevard past Hamilton Cemetery, across the bridge, and turn right at Plains Road. Exit Plains Road at Spring Gardens Road. Follow Spring Gardens and the cemetery will be on your left.
