He died on May 6, 1941 and is buried in IPSWICH CEMETERY, Suffolk, United Kingdom.  ROBERT STEWART MONTGOMERY, whose name appears immediately above  DOUGLAS ERNEST PAUL on this plaque, was a civilian who drowned on April 30, 1941 when the S.S. Nerissa was sunk.
