Location:

Wancourt is a village about 8 kilometres south-east of Arras. It is 2 kilometres south of the main road from Arras to Cambrai. The WANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY is a short distance south-east of the village just off the D 35 road.

  • Memorial Plaque– This wall plaque, commemorating the name of Charles Meyers, is situated inside St Wystan's Church, Repton, Derbyshire, England.  Interestingly according to 1901 Census Records he was born in Austria although he stated he was born at Repton on his Attestation Paper.  However, he did attend Repton School (founded 1556) as a boarder.
  • Memorial– This village War Memorial stands in front of St Wystan's Church, Repton and has the name of Charles Meyers commemorated on the 7th row down from the top.  The spelling of his surname locally and on Census Records is Meyer although he enlisted as Meyers on 23rd July 1915 at Vernon B.C.  He stated his occupation was a Clerk.
