Location:

RAILWAY DUGOUTS BURIAL GROUND (Transport Farm) is located 2 Km south east of Ieper town centre, on the Komenseweg, a road connecting Ieper to Komen (N336). From Ieper town centre the Komenseweg is located via the Rijselsestraat, through the Rijselpoort (Lille Gate) and crossing the Ieper ring road, towards Armentieres and Lille. The road name then changes to Rijselseweg. 1 Km along the Rijselseweg lies the left hand turning onto Komenseweg. The cemetery itself is located 1.2 Km along the Komenseweg on the right hand side of the road.

  • Memorial– This is a general view of the Aberfoyle War Memorial, Perthshire on which John wilson's name is commemorated.
  • Inscription– This is the inscription on the Aberfoyle War Memorial.  The 1901 Scottish Census shows the Wilson family living in Aberfoyle.  His father was called Archibald and his mother's name was Christina. Two brothers, Archibald (Arch.) & Gavin also served in the Canadian Army & are commemorated on the memorial as casualties.  John enlisted along with Archibald on 18/12/1914 at Winnipeg.  His occupation was a farmer.
