The Arras Flying Services Memorial is in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, which is in the Boulevard du General de Gaulle in the western part of the town of Arras, near the Citadel, approximately 2 kilometres due west of the railway station.

  • Census– Thomas W. Whitman is listed on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site as being the son of Julia Mackie. A check of the ancestral records show that Thomas W. Whitman was her step-son and was born in Illinois, USA. British Records (Trevor Henshaw Index) lists him as an American pilot of a Sopwith Camel (Serial #F5954) who came down in the vicinity of , Beaurevoir - Remancourt, France (east of Albert, south of Cambrai).

  • Trunk– The Royal Flying Corps trunk of 2nd Lieutenant Thomas Whitman was found in a second hand store in southern Ohio. Markings on the trunk show that it was made by the "Imperial Trunk & Leather Goods Company", Toronto, Canada. (reference: The Aerodrome Forum Post #62227)
