The Digby Cenotaph was unveiled on September 24, 1922, in memory of the men from the Digby vicinity who gave their lives for King and Country in the First World War. The collection of funds to finance the monument was coordinated by the Great War Veterans Association. The statue is a bronze sculpture of a First World War soldier in Highlanders dress, helmet and backpack. He holds his rifle, butt resting on the ground, in front of him with both hands. On each side of the cenotaph is a Victorian era cannon.
Later, inscriptions were added for the Merchant Navy, Second World War and Korean War.
