Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517 Memorial

Petawawa, Ontario
Type
Other

This memorial is dedicated to all those who have served in Canada's Armed Forces, in times of conflict and on peacekeeping missions.

This memorial replaces a cairn-type memorial that had been erected by RCL Branch 517 and the Ladies Auxiliary. The new memorial comprises a number of elements: the primary element consists of five stelia inscribed with the names of the major conflicts involving Canadian troops. These stelia are surrounded by eight large stones on which are enscribed the names of other theatres of Canadian military operations. Finally, 3 granite tablets originating from the former memorial, have been included in the new memorial.
