I was working towards going overseas for
deployment but unfortunately things started to
happen in my career that were of traumatic
nature that caused me to actually have some
physical injury and mental but I did not know
that at the time and those injuries led me to
losing my tour because I wasn’t fully fit for
duty and as I went back to my unit things sort
of got worse and there was more harm inflicted,
I guess upon me as you can put it that way.
There were multiple assaults throughout my
career on my person and that was really,
that was what ultimately led to the
end of my career. I didn’t know for a
while that I was even injured.
That took some time and eventually I came
forward and spoke to my RSM at the time and
he was actually quite understanding and
giving me some space with my job and then I
started to connect with the different
organizations and agencies and people
I needed to be in contact with to start getting
the help that I needed and I wanted.
