Heroes Remember

It was a signal’s unit but I myself in Service Corp as administrator, we had the office jobs and there was, I think there was twelve of us, Service Corp there and there was also Ordnance Corp, that’s supply, but mainly sigs. I looked after all the movies that came over from Canada, all the books that the Salvation Army sent over. Used to keep a library and I would, had a schedule where the movies would go. We had ten detachments in the Congo. We would send the movies to make sure all the detachments got it. We also loaned them to the Irish Republican Army were over there and Indians were there from India so we provided them with movies and that too so. We had two hours off for lunch because they closed down for two hours for siesta and then after lunch went back to work and work till five and then the rest was free time. We played a lot of ball, a lot of softball and volleyball, tennis, horse shoes.
