Ce monument, une plaque et un cairn, commémore la bataille de Longwoods, qui a eu lieu le 4 mai 1814, une bataille remarquable pendant la guerre de 1812. Le monument est situé à l’endroit où a eu lieu la bataille, en haut de quelques marches et dans une petite aire clôturée. Il s’agit d’un cairn constitué de petites pierres qu’accompagne tout près une œuvre d’art représentant des tuniques rouges.

"Battle Hill:
Here was fought the Battle of the Longwoods, 4th March
1814. United States troops were entrenched on this hill. The
British losses were Captain D. Johnson and Lieutenant P.
Graeme and tweleve men of the Royal Scots Light Company
and the 89th Light Company killed, fifty-two officers and men of
these companies and of the Loyal Kent volunteers, wounded."
