Le cénotaphe initial d’Indian Head a été érigé à cet endroit au début des années 1920. L’exact moment de la démolition du monument d’origine est inconnu, mais l’emplacement qu’il occupait est maintenant marqué par une simple croix blanche grâce à l’initiative du vétéran Terry Fuller.
