He was an alumni of the Royal Military College of Canada 1914 #1007. He died on Apr 13, 1918. He served with the Royal Engineers, 101st Infantry Brigade, Division Signal Company. He was buried at the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperingewest-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Captain Frederick Graeme Avery M C was killed in action 13th April 1918 at 21 years of age. He was the only son of Ottilie Avery of Ottawa Canada and the late Frederick Wells Avery. He was cadet 1007 in the class of 1914 at the Royal Military College of Canada. He died on Apr 13, 1918. He served with the Royal Engineers, 101st Infantry Brigade, Division Signal Company. He was buried at the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Poperingewest-Vlaanderen, Belgium. As an ex-cadet, he is named on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada.

This Warriors` Chapel was erected in grateful remembrance of those members of St John`s Church serving in the Armed Forces who made the supreme sacrifice for their King and country in order that we might continue to live in that freedom which is, by the grace of God, our rightful heritage. Dedicated in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and fifty.

CIMETIÈRE MILITAIRE DE LIJSSENTHOEK Belgique
Le cimetière militaire de Lijssenthoek est situé à environ 12 kilomètres à l'ouest du cimetière municipal d'Ypres, sur la Boescheepseweg, une route qui part de la route N308 reliant Ypres à Poperinge.
À partir du centre-ville d'Ypres, rendez-vous sur la Poperingseweg par la Elverdingsestraat en passant au-dessus de deux petits carrefours giratoires sur la J. Capronstraat. La Poperingseweg est le prolongement de la J. Capronstraat et débute après un important passage à niveau. En arrivant à Poperinge, tournez à gauche sur la route périphérique de Poperinge (R33).
Suivez cette route et tournez à gauche à l'intersection avec la route N38, la Frans Vlaanderenweg. Parcourez 800 mètres sur la route N38 et tournez à gauche sur la Lenestraat. Tournez tout de suite après à droite, sur la Boescheepseweg. Le cimetière se trouve à 2 kilomètre du côté droit de cette route.
