Lieutenant d'aviation George Henry Durston
Durston, George Henry - Flying Officer. Born 24th November, 1921, at Dauphin, Man. Educated at Dauphin Public School and Collegiate Institute. Entered the service of the Bank 9th August, 1939. Served at Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. Enlisted 16th March, 1942, from that branch in R.C.A.F. Pilot Officer 19th February, 1943; Flying Officer in 1944. Trained at Brandon, Manitoba, Saskatoon, Sask., Jarvis, Ont., Chatham, N.B., and Paulson, Man. Graduated as Navigator Bomber. Stationed at Halifax. Overseas in May, 1943. Attached R.A.F. Awarded shield for best all-round Bomb Aimer at No, 11 Operational Training Unit, Abington, England, in October, 1943. Reported missing after large-scale raid on Frankfurt 19th March, 1944. CIMETIÈRE DE GUERRE DE DURNBACH Allemagne
Durnbach est un village à 16 kilomètres à l'est de Bad Tolz, une ville située à 48 kilomètres au sud de Munich. Le cimetière de guerre de Durnbach est à 3 kilomètres au nord du village de Gmund am Tegernsee. En suivant la A8 à partir de Munich, tournez à l'intersection Holzkirchen, prenant ainsi la route 318 en direction de Gmund am Tegernsee. Au carrefour avec la 427, tournez à gauche sur la Miesbach. Le cimetière se trouve à gauche, à 500 mètres environ du carrefour entre la 318 et la 472.
