While in Hospital; a regrettable Incident
I was recovering in the bed and in the morning when I woke up there was an awful racket going on in one of the wards away from my side of the hospital. And I found out later that it was a German. And they, they thought maybe he was off his rocker because he kept yelling about all the Canadian and the English soldiers that he killed, himself. Maybe he was bragging I don’t know. But you know something. In the morning, that was the night before, in the morning after I was finished with the operation and all that I could hear that noise over there. It was, there was orderlies were running over towards that guy’s bunk, and they found him, the blanket was over his head and all, and they found a knife right through here. They did, they did him in, and this is true as I’m standing here.
