Interviewer: What was your impression of that site? What do you remember?

It's, well we drove into the city on, on an army bus and when they explained it to us, it was, you know, what had happened, what the size of the city was and everything, it was really, I can't explain, I don't know the, the word, it was amazing that, that this could happen with one bomb. There is a bridge there, in Nagasaki, and some person was standing on the bridge when the, the bomb missed the city and there was a bridge and there was a person had been standing on there and their image is burnt into the concrete from the blast hitting them. They have a little, were starting to set up a little museum, and they had eye beams, twelve-inch eye beams just twisted, twisted like a pretzel, you know, scissors melted, and stuff like that, just amazing.
