Transcription
Went to initial training school in the Hunt Club in Toronto. Then I went to Malton, now Pearson, to do navigation, dead reckoning and that sort of thing which is not the informal navigation. And then we went to Jarvis to do bombing and gunnery. Oh and there also did some... wireless. Then being still stupid, they sent us to Rivers, Manitoba for what they laughingly call Astro Navigation which means you use star sights to, you take three sights and you’re in the middle somewhere and if you don’t know what side of the world you are on you’re really lost. But anyway, you use stars to navigate and then that’s training. That was all the training in Canada. Then we went to England where they sorted us out and we went to Operational Training Unit.
