I started off in St. Jean for, it was around a 10-week course there for basic training and after that I went to Camp Borden to do my trades training which lasted 7 1/2 months and then we went on to what they call the aircraft training which is the aircraft we were going to be working on at that time, the CF104, so we went out to Cold Lake for two weeks training out there on the 104 and when I got back I was transferred to Germany, or France I should say. At that time they called it a munitions and weapons technician but it was a, it evolved to armament systems technician at the end so it was basically all the armament on aircraft and the armament used in the air force like small arms as well as explosive devices. We were the first ones to touch an airplane when it came back and the last ones to touch an airplane before the pilot took over.
