Elliott, Donald James - Flying Officer. Born 11th October, 1921, at Sprioghill, N.S. Educated at Springhill High School and Amherst Academy. Entered the service of the Bank 23rd September, 1938. Served at branches in the Maritime Provinces. Enlisted 7th September, 1940, from Charlottetown, P.E.I., in R.C.A.F. Sergeant in December, 1942; Pilot Officer in May, 1943; Flying Officer later in 1943. Overseas in May, 1943. Served with 425 (Alouette) Squadron, R.C.A.F., operating over North Africa and Sicily in summer of 1943. Made over 30 flights as Navigator of Squadron Leader's plane. Reported killed in air operations on or about 3rd January, 1944, when his plane failed to return from a raid on Berlin. Buried in Wahrenholz Cemetery, County of Gifhorn, in mid-Germany. <br><i>From a memorial booklet prepared by the Canadian Bank of Commerce.</i>

CIMETIÈRE DE GUERRE DE HANOVRE Allemagne
On se rend au cimetière militaire de Hanovre, qui jouxte le cimetière de guerre de Hanovre, en empruntant l'autoroute A2 E30 qui va de Dortmund à Berlin. À l'intersection avec la B441, tournez à droite sur la B441 et suivez les panneaux indiquant Hanovre, Ahlem et Seelze. Après avoir fait 7 kilomètres, tournez à droite sur la Seelzestrasse en direction de Harenburg. Après avoir fait 5 kilomètres et être entré dans Harenburg, tournez à gauche sur la Harenberger Miele. Au sortir de Harenburg, vous vous dirigerez vers Hanovre. Le cimetière militaire et le cimetière de guerre de Hanovre se trouvent à 3 kilomètres.
