This photo of L/Col Allan was taken in Valcartier in September of 1914 prior to the sailing of the 3rd Bn (CEF) with the First Canadian Contingent for England. Col Allan was a captain and company commander at the time and later commanded the 3rd Bn in France.

This is a photo of L.Col Allan's gravemarker in a Toronto cemetery. It was taken by Padre Craig Cameron of The Queen's Own Rifles in 1998.
