An oak cross is affixed to the northwest wall inside the main body of Christ Church Cathedral. It is inscribed: Ici repose le Lieutenant J.D. Pemberton, décédé le 21 août 1917. The cross is believed to have been carved by Louis Milhem, a Frenchman who was dismayed at how the body of the Canadian — actually Capt. F.D. (Despard) Pemberton — was treated by the Germans. 989 Captain Frederick Despard Pemberton (RMC 1912) was the son of Frederick Bernard Pemberton and Mary A. W. Pemberton, of Victoria, British Columbia. He served with the Royal Flying Corps, 50th Sqdn. He died 21 Aug 1917. He was buried in the Honnechy British Cemetery in Nord, France.

639 Major Alan Torrance Powell DSO was the son of Robert H. W. Powell, M.D., and Elizabeth F. Torrance, his wife. He was the husband of Grace M. Powell, of 3, College Court, Quebec. He was a graduate, R.M.C., Kingston, Canada. He was Mentioned in Despatches. He served with the Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), 14th Bn. He died on 19 Apr 1918. He was buried in the Aubigny Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

CIMETIÈRE BRITANNIQUE DE HONNECHY Nord, France
Honnechy est un village du département du Nord à 8 kilomètres au sud-ouest de Le Cateau. Le cimetière britannique de Honnechy se trouve au nord-est du village, du côté nord-ouest de la route qui mène à Reumont.
