In September 1995, 104 cadets assembled at Battalion Park to pay homage to their forefathers who fought for Canada in the 1914-18 World War. They came to paint the 20,000 stones marking the battalion numbers placed on the hillside in 1915 & 16 by the young soldiers.

La plus grande partie de ce mémorial est composée de quatre grands groupes de chiffres faits de plus de 20,000 pierres peintes en blanc pour former les chiffres "51", "113", "137" et "151". Ces chiffres se rapportent aux 51e, 113e, 137e et 151e unités du Corps expéditionnaire canadien, formées dans la région à l'occasion de la Première Guerre mondiale. Les formations des roches sont la création de soldats en campement dans la région durant les années 1915-1916 et ont été restaurées en septembre 1995 par les cadets locaux. Les plaques sur les deux tumulus racontent l'histoire du mémorial, des quatre bataillons et des formations de roches.
