Située à Guelph, en Ontario, la maison McCrae, où grandit John McCrae, médecin, soldat et auteur du célèbre poème de la Première Guerre mondiale « Au champ d’honneur » (In Flanders Fields), est désignée lieu historique national du Canada. Des expositions permanentes y sont aujourd’hui tenues sur la vie de John McCrae et sur ses multiples vocations : médicale, militaire et artistique. Le monument commémoratif prend la forme d’un livre ouvert sur les pages du poème en question, composé le 3 mai 1915, sur le front de la deuxième bataille d’Ypres, en Belgique.
