House of Commons
ACVA
In December, 2017, ACVA tabled its 8th report, Comparative Study of Services to Veterans in Other Jurisdictions. The committee's report examined how other jurisdictions treat their Veterans and provide them with support. Jurisdictions considered are the United States, New Zealand, France, United Kingdom, Australia and Germany.
- The Government Response to the Committee was tabled on March 29th, 2018 and provided a recommendation-by-recommendation update on progress made to address the committee's concerns.
In May 2018. ACVA tabled its 9th report, A Seamless Transition to Civilian Life For All Veterans: It's Time For Action. The Committee's report examined a soldier's transition from military to civilian life and improving transitional support between the Department of National Defence and Veterans Affairs Canada.
- The Government Response to the Committee was tabled on July 18th, 2018 and provided a recommendation-by-recommendation update on progress made to address the committee's concerns.
PACP
There were no parliamentary committee reports requiring a response in 2017-18.
Senate
In June 2018, the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs (VEAC) completed their study and the Senate Standing Committee on National Security and Defence (SECD) tabled their 19th report, From Soldier to Civilian: Professionalizing the transition. The Committee examined issues relating to creating a defined, professional and consistent system for veterans as they leave the Canadian Armed Forces
