Mr. Hebburn, a Veteran of the Second World War, became a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 31 in 1960. He has served the Legion and his fellow Veterans with remarkable dedication. He has occupied nearly all positions on the Executive Committee including three terms as President and another four as Service Officer. He has sat on various zone and district committees. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, he was awarded the highest award that can be granted to Legion members, the Meritorious Service Medal. In addition to his work on the Poppy Campaign, Mr. Hebburn has participated in many remembrance activities to make our youth more aware of the sacrifices of his comrades. He is always willing to deal with the media to share his war time experiences with the wider public. He has also assisted many Veterans with their pension applications and he continues to offer advice to new members of the Legion.
