Mr. Alexandre Fontaine is a dedicated Canadian soldier of the Afghanistan war, who joined the military in 2002, at the age of 18. Mr. Fontaine has become a spokesperson for his generation of younger Veterans and soldiers who served in Afghanistan. An avid writer, Mr. Fontaine authored a book designed for pre teen children of military families that discusses parents who return home from a military mission with post traumatic stress disorder. It is written in a simple, humane way that Mr. Fontaine hopes will help children of military parents better understand this illness. Mr. Fontaine continues to correspond with his Member of Parliament as well as the Minister of Veterans Affairs on issues of improving services to former and still serving soldiers. His positive attitude and advice are appreciated by others as is his dedication toward the betterment of modern-day Veterans.
