Angus Stanfield

Mr. Stanfield is a past president of the BC/Yukon Command, presiding over 150 branches of The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL). He has 19 years of outstanding volunteer service with the RCL, including three terms as president at the Sooke Legion, two terms as regional zone commander, and as president at provincial level since 2012. Mr. Stanfield is the founding director of Cockrell House, an 11-unit complex in Colwood, BC, which provides tailored housing, support, and training to meet the needs of at risk, homeless Veterans. He provides ongoing assistance to residents and represents the program nationally. As an advocate for homeless Veterans, Mr. Stanfield speaks to people about the realism of homelessness and offers information on how the public can help. He participates in many parades and public events representing BC/Yukon Command and is the pipe major for the Sooke Pipe and Drums band. Under Mr. Stanfield’s tenure as BC/Yukon Command president, the Legion Service Dog program was launched in January 2014. Mr. Stanfield’s contribution to the Veterans of BC is multi-faceted and he has touched many lives over the years.
