Anton Thiele

Mr. Anton Thiele is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran who retired at the rank of Master Warrant Officer with 17 years’ service including some active time with NATO forces in Germany in 1975. Mr. Thiele has been an active member of the Korea Veterans Association Manitoba Unit 17 for many years. He is currently serving as the First Vice President and the Membership Chairman and prides himself on upholding the Association’s constitution of honouring Korean War Veterans and securing Association and military traditions. Mr. Thiele visits with the sick and elderly that cannot attend meetings, conferences and events as well as provides escort for those that wish to attend. In addition, he provides assistance to Veterans, particularly those that may need technical help with computers. Mr. Thiele works with the Korean Society of Manitoba encouraging friendship and building a good relationship between the Korean community and Korean War Veterans.

Mr. Thiele conducts funeral services and flag arrangements for deceased Korean War Veterans and takes an active part in Colour Party as well as in planning events and commemorative ceremonies. He volunteers at the Deer Lodge Centre spending time with the Veterans and assisting them with anything required. Mr. Thiele is also an active member of The Royal Military Institute of Manitoba.
