Armand Lavallee

Mr. Lavallee is a Veteran of the Canadian Forces. His record of promoting the sacrifices and achievements of Canada's service men and women in the city of Winnipeg goes back many years. Since 1997, he has helped to plan the annual main Remembrance Day service in Winnipeg, an event which attracts several thousand people. In 2005, Mr. Lavallee planned activities in the city commemorating the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Far East. Mr. Lavallee has always demonstrated a great respect for Veterans and works hard to honour them in practical ways with community events such as the annual Winnipeg Remembrance Day Service, Decoration Day at the Brookside Cemetery Field of Honour, and school tours to the Field of Honour. Mr. Lavallee asks Veterans from various associations to speak to school children as they tour grave markers and monuments in the military Field of Honour and cemetery. Mr. Lavallee feels by participating in this unique youth outreach program he is able to add depth and meaning to the sacrifices and achievements of Canada's service men and women'and our Veterans'for young people in Winnipeg.
