Mr. McKinnon is a Veteran of the Korean War who served with the 1st and 3rd Battalions, Royal Canadian Regiment. He is an active member of the Korea Veterans Association of Canada, Manitoba Unit 17 (KVA 17) and has provided valuable assistance with planning functions and events for many years. For the past 10 years, Mr. McKinnon has been assisting with the Annual Poppy Campaign throughout the City of Winnipeg. He has been the Sick and Visiting Chairman for the KVA Unit 17 over the past 15 years, visiting Veterans at Deer Lodge Centre, as well as other care facilities and private homes. Always dedicated to his volunteer duties, Mr. McKinnon endeavors to keep in communication with ailing Veterans and provide assistance where possible.
