Mr. Bernard Brennan joined the Canadian Forces in 1949 and, in addition to numerous postings within Canada, saw service in both Korea and England prior to his retirement in 1971. Mr. Brennan has been an active member of Branch 33 of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1977. For the past 11 years, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that each Veterans' Week is successful and, most notably, Mr. Brennan has been the Chairman of the Branch's Poppy Campaign, which has consistently met or exceeded its fund raising goals. He continues to organize and lead a small group of Veterans who speak to school children during Veterans' Week. Dedicated to the overall success of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Brennan has often represented Branch 33 at numerous out of town ceremonies and conventions at his own expense. An advocate for elderly Veterans, Mr. Brennan recently managed a project to acquire a wheelchair lift for a local senior citizen home.
