Bob Maley

North Vancouver, British Columbia

Mr. Maley is a Correctional Supervisor with the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General of British Columbia and a retired sergeant major who served with the British and Canadian Armed Forces. He has been instrumental in organizing the North Shore Veterans Council Remembrance Day service and parade for the past 30 years. Mr. Maley has been bringing the Council’s educational program to schools within the City and District of North Vancouver over the past several years. Mr. Maley, along with other Council members, is responsible for booking the schools, renting theatres, applying for funding under the Community Engagement Partnership Fund, and providing resource materials for students and teachers. The program content is engaging and interactive, taking youth and teachers through a journey of Canadian military history. The program ranges from the history of Vimy Ridge through to current serving members of the Canadian Forces including Canada’s military commitment in Afghanistan.
