Mr. Poirier served in the Canadian Forces between 1990 1995. In 2007, Mr. Poirier founded the Comrades Motorcycle Club, a military and Veteran based club which raises funds to support members of the Canadian Forces and the 'Soldier On' program, as well as other military activities. Mr. Poirier dedicated several months to the planning and creation of the club. After the development of a logo, Mr. Poirier created a website and registered the name and logo. Mr. Poirier and his comrades participate in motorcycle rides, events and activities to raise funds and to create awareness and support for Canada's military members. His organization has garnered considerable electronic and print media coverage. Mr. Poirier has been commended by the Chief of Defence Staff and Member of Provincial Parliament, Rick Bartolucci.
