A Veteran of the Canadian Forces, Brigadier General Genin joined the Board of Directors of the Last Post Fund in1994, and was Director of the Quebec Branch from 1998-2000, Vice President (East), Senior Vice President in 2002, and National President in 2003-2004. He is currently President of the Ste. Anne's Hospital Foundation which supports the Hospital in providing equipment and facilities not available through Government funding. Under his leadership, the foundation was responsible for creating a guest house for patients' families who visit the hospital and for Veterans coming to Ste-Anne's for evaluation and out-patient care. Other projects which have contributed to creating a better quality of life for hospitalized Veterans include a new audio and video system for the hospital chapel, a refurbished family room for guests and a major contribution to the modernization of the Rendez-vous - the hospital's centre of activities. The Foundation intends to raise four million dollars and so far has raised more than 2 million dollars. B-Gen Genin is also President of the Fondation Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal - a trust fund which assists members, Veterans and Cadet organizations.
