Burns Daniel Currie

Richmond Corner, New Brunswick

A Second World War Veteran with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Europe, Mr. Currie joined Woodstock's Branch No. 11 of The Royal Canadian Legion upon his return to civilian life in 1945. A past President and Life Member of Branch No. 11, Mr. Currie has also served in other capacities on the Branch's Executive. He served as a member on two committees which purchased properties adjacent to the Legion Branch and had them converted into Veterans' housing. Mr. Currie has held several positions on the Executive of the Poppy Campaign Committee. He is also a Charter Member of Woodstock Unit No. 95 of ANAVETS. He was chairman of the Constitution and By-laws Committee and in this capacity, was instrumental in the writing of the Unit's By-laws. Mr. Currie is entirely devoted to the well-being of Veterans and continues to be a mentor and role model to the members of his Branch. A tireless advocate on their behalf, Mr. Currie is a source of inspiration to fellow Veterans and citizens in his community.
