Calvin Bellamy

Stittsville, Ontario

Mr. Bellamy is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. After retiring from the military, he established a cadet band for 742 Air Cadet Squadron while they resided at the Beaver Barracks in Ottawa. He was a drum instructor until 1975, when the squadron was moved to CFB Ottawa (South). Mr. Bellamy then moved on to assist the Signal Corps Museum in Kingston, Ontario, set up a NORTHAG display, which is still there today. From 1984 to 1996, he served with the Special Service Reserves where he taught communications to the reservists. In 2008, Mr. Bellamy joined the NATO Veterans Organization of Canada and took on the job of secretary-treasurer. He helped transfer the organization from Fredericton, New Brunswick, to Ottawa and was successful in setting up a federal corporation charter for NATO Veterans Organization of Canada. Within this organization, Mr. Bellamy has held the positions of adjutant and senior advisor, and he is currently the organization’s Senior Vice-President. In addition to this volunteer work, Mr. Bellamy spent four years as group committee chairman with the 1st Glen Cairn Cub Scouts, and has been involved, for 44 years now, in the Masonic Order of Free Masons, through the Shriner of Tunis Temple in Ottawa.
