Ms. Hadley is the daughter of Borge Agerbak, a Second World War Veteran of the Battle for Hong Kong. She is a longstanding member of The Royal Canadian Legion and an associate member of the Hong Kong Veterans Association, Manitoba Branch, where she has undertaken numerous activities on behalf of Hong Kong and other Veterans over the years. In 1997, the Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association was formed and Ms. Hadley became a member serving on the Executive and chairing special committees. She also served as President from 2001 to 2007. Ms. Hadley currently serves as Chair of the Memorial Wall Committee. The Memorial Wall, which is a unique testimony to the sacrifice of the men and women who fought the Japanese in the defence of Hong Kong, was dedicated in Ottawa on August 15, 2009 at a successful and well-attended ceremony.
