Casey Cook

Casey Cook is nominated for the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation for his dedicated service with the George Derby Centre.

For the past five years, he has been the President of the George Derby Society. During his tenure, he has “reinvigorated the institution” and, by doing so, has had a positive effect on many of the Veterans and other residents of the Centre.

Through his leadership, the Centre has restored financial stability, and despite the shift to more care for non-Veterans, he has ensured that the Centre’s “military themes and traditions” have been preserved.

Beyond this, he has performed the Master of Ceremonies duties at the last four Remembrance Day services, and oversaw renovations of the Centre’s facilities, including the cenotaph.
