Mrs. Houle has devoted more than 55 years of loyal service to The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 35 in Armstrong, British Columbia. As the Branch's Service Officer for the past 10 years she has effectively seen to the comfort and well-being of many Veterans. She coordinates appointments for Veterans with the local Veterans Affairs' office. Her knowledge of procedures and policy has been invaluable in assisting Veterans with changes to their benefits. Mrs. Houle has organized Meals on Wheels for a decade. She has been the Poppy Campaign Chairman for the same period and has organized the Branch's Remembrance Day services. Mrs. Houle drives Veterans to doctor and hospital appointments and visits them when they are in hospital. She has voluntarily assisted about 30 Veterans each year with their Income tax preparation. Mrs. Houle is well known in the community for her exceptional devotion to, and care of, Veterans.
