Espanola, Ontario
Mr. Clint Bowerman, a Second World War Veteran, was one of the founding members of the War Pensioners of Canada, North Shore Branch, Espanola, where he served as President from 1992 to 1996. For several years, he held the demanding positions of First Vice President and Membership Chair of the Branch, to which he had donated countless hours of dedicated service to ensure the vitality of the organization and well-being of its members. Mr. Bowerman was a member of the Sick and Visiting Committee, devoting his free time to visit Veterans whose health did not permit them to leave their homes. Mr. Bowerman played a key role in organizing a committee to oversee the "Millennium Project," - a project which served to acknowledge and honour Veterans from the Espanola area, who have passed away, by attaching a plaque of Remembrance to their grave markers. He also attended dedications of other Veterans' grave sites in the Manitoulin, North Shore, and Algoma Regions. Mr. Bowerman's dedication and service to his fellow Veterans made him an outstanding leader in his community.
