Col (ret'd) B. Ronald Doucet CD

A Veteran of the Second World War, Mr. Doucet has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) for more than 57 years and has served as his Branch's Service Officer, Vice-President and President. For more than 30 years, Mr. Doucet has also been on the Executive of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, and the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Division of the RCL, where he served successively as Secretary, Chairman of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Board of Governors and Governor. As Director of the Last Post Fund New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Branch for the past 10 years, Mr. Doucet has been instrumental in helping Veterans and their families obtain benefits with respect to disability pensions and related treatment. His knowledge has been a key factor in helping Veterans and their dependants recover expenses to which they were entitled. Mr. Doucet has given support to Veterans in matters relating to burials and marking of graves. He is currently serving as President of the Army Cadet League of New Brunswick, where he works with more than 900 young people between the ages of 12 and 19 years, many of which are descendants of Veterans. Mr. Doucet has assisted in the creation of various bursaries and scholarships. His contribution to Veterans and the community have brought him much admiration from his peers.
