Mr. Cory Schieman is a retired Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, having served for seven years as Military Police. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for seven years, tirelessly volunteering his time to the Branch by supporting Veterans, seniors and fundraising efforts.
Mr. Schieman is currently the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Centennial Calgary, overseeing all flags, dress and deportment for the Branch. He demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the Legion in this role by assisting Legionnaires with their drill, dress and deportment, and volunteering at Remembrance Day services at 10 Calgary Veterans and seniors nursing homes for those unable to attend ceremonies in their communities. In addition, Mr. Schieman can be found helping out at the Legion in many capacities, such as working the door at seniors’ dances, organizing and serving meals at the two annual Veterans’ dinners, or assisting with the annual membership mail-out.
