Mr. Grossinger served with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) for 15 years. During his service, he was deployed to Bosnia, Croatia, and with the first contingent of Canadian troops in Afghanistan, where he received the Commander in Chief Unit Commendation. After being medically released, Mr. Grossinger returned to Whitehorse, Yukon, and joined Branch 254 of the Royal Canadian Legion’s BC/Yukon Command, where he has been a member for 15 years. Since returning to Branch 254, he has dedicated himself to the service of fellow Veterans by initiating and coordinating the local Legion’s “Support our Troops” program, which sent care packages to Canadian troops serving in Afghanistan. Mr. Grossinger has served in the 2nd and 1st vice president executive positions and is currently the immediate past Branch President. He is also the Branch Service Officer and volunteer Peer Counsellor with the local Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) group.
