David Davidson

Kitchener, Ontario

A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Davidson has been very active in the Korea Veterans Association Unit 52, of which he was the founding Vice President and has served both as the Unit's Secretary and President. He served as 1st Vice President and President of the Ontario Region, and served as the association's National President. Mr. Davidson has worked tirelessly on behalf of Korea veterans, assisting them with obtaining their benefits and was instrumental in gaining official recognition on their behalf. He has supported the implementation of the National Wall of Remembrance in Brampton and in Ottawa, as part of the 2003 Veterans' Week Canada Remembers the Korean War. Mr. Davidson is an active member of the Poppy Fund committee and a member of the local Veterans Council, which provides financial assistance to veterans and coordinates commemorative activities and ceremonies. Mr. Davidson is a member of National Council of Veteran Associations, The Royal Canadian Legion and ANAVETS. His is presently researching a Roll of Honour for the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers members who have died since the Second World War. His expertise in refurbishing wood and metal objects is evident in military artifacts he has donated to veterans' groups. In recognition of his contributions to the veteran community, Mr. Davidson was presented with the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2002.
