Mr. Jones is a British Veteran of the Korean War who served with the Royal Signals Regiment before settling in Canada. As an active member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 137, he organizes events for many anniversaries, such as the Battle of the Atlantic, the Battle of Britain and D-Day. Mr. Jones is very active in the Napanee community, volunteering at the local Navy League, the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and as a Legion liaison officer for the Cadets. Mr. Jones speaks at local schools and at senior and nursing homes. He organizes annual Remembrance Day services at the facilities and acts as the master of ceremonies. Mr. Jones hosts a yearly D-Day celebration and organized a VE-Day parade at a campground at the Bay of Quinte where he spends his summers. He built a small memorial at the entrance to the campground in memory of those who served. Mr. Jones also built a beach at the park, which is called "Juno" after its famous namesake.
