David K. Robinson

Mr. Robinson is a history teacher at Port Perry High School in Southwestern Ontario and he works tirelessly to bring Canada's military history to students. Mr. Robinson is the official event coordinator for Remembering Ortona, a project in which he hopes a contingent of 6,000 students and teachers (1,000 from Southwestern Ontario) will travel to Ortona, Italy in 2008. The students will be matched with Veterans during ceremonies in Ortona that include a visit to the cemetery where Canadian soldiers are buried, and march to the town square and a banquet with Italian students. Mr. Robinson is also the head of Canadian and World Studies in Port Perry, Ontario. He is responsible for the remarkable Return to Vimy Ridge project, which saw over 2,000 students journey to France in April 2007 for the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. He also led 200 students on an Explorica tour of Hong Kong in 2005 - the largest tour group ever in China - to commemorate the Canadians who died there in 1941.
