Mr. Saunders has been a loyal member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 45 years, serving the organization with distinction in a number of senior posts. In addition to being active on a number of committees, he has devoted 40 years to 300 Biggar Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets. In this capacity, Mr. Saunders counselled and guided four generations of youth on a positive and life-affirming journey toward adulthood. He has been working for the Air Cadet League of Canada as an Area Director since 1966, and continues to serve faithfully in this position today. Mr. Saunders has selflessly volunteered decades of his personal time to many causes and organizations such as the Poppy Campaign Committee, promoting Remembrance and raising funds for worthy Legion projects. For 36 years, his volunteer contributions have also benefited his local Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance service, and through them, the Biggar community as a whole.
