Donald Mann

Mr. Mann is a retired Canadian Forces Veteran. He is a volunteer for the Poppy Fund and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Society of Canada. Since 1991, Mr. Mann has been a member of Unit 302 of the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) in Sidney, B.C., and for 13 years he presented the ANAVETS Cadet Medal of Merit to cadets training at HMCS Quadra. He is a life member and a holder of the Order of Service and has served as unit president and B.C. Command president. He was presented with the Award of Merit in 2008 in recognition of his many years of service to Veterans, their widows and the community. Mr. Mann represents ANAVETS as a member of various committees and by participating in commemorative activities. He was the chairperson of the Town of Sidney Permissive Tax Exemption Committee, which was successful in obtaining a 100% tax exemption for the Sidney Unit valid through to 2014. This will allow the Unit and its members to continue to serve the Veterans and citizens of their community.
