Donald Squires

Mr. Squires is a Veteran who served twice on the front lines during the Korean War. He has been a tireless and valued member of Unit 13 of the Korea Veterans Association of Canada (KVAC) for the past 24 years. In 2005, he introduced a motion to have a commemorative plaque purchased and presented to HMCS Haida. This plaque pays tribute to the eight ships and the more than 3,600 officers and men of the Royal Canadian Navy who participated in the Korean War. Always available to assist his unit or comrades or whenever the need arises, Mr. Squires arranges for fellow KVAC members, requiring transportation, to attend unit meetings. When the Waterloo-Wellington North Branch of the Royal Canadian Regiment Association was in need of a treasurer, Mr. Squires accepted the position without hesitation.
