Douglas Lloyd Sample

A Veteran of the Second World War and the Canadian Forces, Mr. Sample is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Air Force Association of Canada. In addition, Mr. Sample is involved with more than 30 charities and organizations. He is a Governor of the Montreal General Hospital, Montreal Children’s Hospital and an Ambassador of the St. Mary’s Hospital foundations. As a member of the Saint Mark’s Anglican Church Men’s Club, Mr. Sample participated in the sponsor of a Korean orphan, as well as arranging for the provision of Easter and Christmas baskets to members of the parish in need. Mr. Sample founded the Canadian Branch of the Yorkshire Air Museum and Allied Air Forces Memorial organization which commemorates Canadian Air Force personnel from the Second World War. His dedication to the Canada Branch of the museum has given him many opportunities to speak to audiences in various parts of the country. As a result of his involvement with the Dominion Institute’s Memory Project, Mr. Sample’s speaking engagements grew over the years enabling him to convey the message of remembrance to hundreds of students.
